About Graham
Childhood
Graham was born and raised in Southern Shores, NC. His musical career began at birth. According to his mother, the nurses said that he sound like he was singing, not crying, so literally he has been performing since the day he was born. Graham began to focus on his singing seriously at the age of 14 when he began to be active in his school chorus, plays, and local community projects. After graduating high school he departed to Louisburg College, where through his choral teacher, had the opportunity to perform with the North Carolina Symphony in Raleigh. It was in Louisburg that he also began to teach himself how to play guitar. After a brief stent back at the OBX he moved to Charlotte to continue his studies in Vocal Performance in UNC Charlotte. While he loved it out there in the big city, school unfortunately became too expensive and Graham decided to come back home to figure out what to do next.
Career
After working a few odd jobs from bussing tables, construction, local writing stint, Graham got a job at a local real estate company of which he worked at for a little under a year. It was through working this job he was able to get a better understanding of how business down here on the OBX works and how he could make his music career a success. Graham’s business began to take off and he found himself at a crossroads either stay in real estate and get his license or take a huge risk, quit and pursue music full time.
Guess what he did? Through hard work, countless hours rehearsing, saving money for equipment, and branching out with other artists in the area, the love of his life, his partner in crime, and his baby, his set “Acoustic Nights with Graham Outten” was born.
Graham’s musical journey has led him to many amazing venues on the east coast as well as many wonderful opportunities on the mainland. He looks forward to see what life has in store for him in this business that he has the privilege in working.
